Review and Swatches: NYX Round Lipstick in Fire, Tea Rose and Pumpkin Pie

Hello lovely readers! Today I wanted to share with you this lipsticks that I am currently loving: it's the NYX Round Lipsticks! I got this from Stuff In Style, and retails 150 each.
Left to right: Fire, Tea Rose and Pumpkin Pie
Now I did a lot of research before purchasing these lipsticks: swatches, reviews, etc. I am aware that some of the NYX RLs have a frosted finish, and I am just looking for a cream sheen finish. So after a lot of research and Youtube videos and blogs, I got this three gorgeous shades! Here is a photo that I posted in Instagram when I got the product:
Let's talk about the packaging. I think it's so elegant. The tube is plastic, but its quite sturdy. The cap includes the code and the name of the shade, while at the bottom you can see the actual color of the lipstick that's inside. Unlike the Ever Bilenna or Nichido lipsticks that you can take out this clear containers and use the products that's inside, you can't remove this containers. It's purpose is just to give you an idea of what the color is. I also love the fact that the ingredients are listed on the tube. :)

Now for some swatches:
I let the lipstick set in the back of my hand for a minute, then lightly ran my fingers on them. The result is:
Yup, it does not have super staying powers, because it's creamy unlike other matte lipsticks that tends to stay longer but can be drying. These lippies are so moisturizing! I do not need to use a lipbalm under it. :)

Let's talk about each shade individually:

NYX Round Lipstick in Fire
This shade looks redder in the photos and in the tube, but it is actually a deep pink red shade. Out of the three lipsticks that I have, it is the most pigmented and most long-lasting. Here is a personal swatch on my lips:
Since it is pigmented, I do not need to use a lot of it, just 1 swipe for some color, 3 swipes for a really really bright deep pinkish red color (for the photo above, I used 2 swipes).

NYX Round Lipstick in Tea Rose
Now this shade is what I call "my lips but better" shade. Its's sort of a dusty pink color. For others they may find this lipstick pigmented, but for me I have to use a lot so that the color will show on my lips.
See what I mean? It's close to the color of my lips and I love that, but again, for me it's not that pigmented since I need to swipe a few times to achieve the color pay-off that I want (I think it's a matter of preference).

NYX Round Lipstick in Pumpkin Pie
I've always wanted to have a nude lipstick, something that I can use if I wanted to go for the smokey eye look, and this shade is the perfect nude for me! As the name suggests, this is a peachy nude shade that has a brown undertone to it. Personally, I think this is the least pigmented of all three. I have to put on quite a lot of this to achieve the nude look on my lips, but I still love using it! This is currently my go-to lip color.
What I like about this product:
- Very moisturizing and glides smoothly on the lips (no need to use lipbalm)
- Very affordable at 150
- Wide range of shades (I think they have 100+ shades according to NYX's website)
- Color payoff is great (especially for Fire)
- The packaging ( I just wish that the small container at the bottom can be removed and contains a lip gloss or something)
- Scent (It actually does not have any, maybe except for the Tea Rose since it has a very light fruity scent, but I still like it)

What I don't like about this product:
- Staying power (Because of the cream sheen finish, it stays for 2 hours without drinking, eating or smacking)
- Transfers (It transfers on your glass, spoon, straw, etc.)

NYX is not available on our local department stores, but there are a lot of online stores that carry it. I think they are also stalls on malls that sells NYX, particularly in Trinoma and Greenhills. I bought mine via Stuff In Style, very smooth transaction and shipping is fast. Also, the lippies arrived in perfect condition. If you like to order yours today, please visit Stuff In Style's Multiply page.

I am planning to purchase more of this in the future (especially that I am almost running out of my Pumpkin Pie). If you are just starting to use make-up, you can just purchase 1 shade that looks very natural (try Tea Rose, Fig, Blush, Hope). If you are afraid of purchasing online and wanted to test out the shades first, you can visit the stall in Trinoma (its on the second floor near Starbucks and Shoe Salon).

Note: I am purposely growing out my eyebrows because I wanted to share an eyebrow tutorial. What do you think?

Stay pretty always and goodluck!
