Starter Makeup Brush Set: The Cerro Qreen 7-Piece Brush Set

I am back with another review, and this is about the very first brush set that I ever had. This is actually a good starter brush set. I won this from a giveaway and it is the Cerro Qreen 7-Piece Brush Set.

Isn't the color so cute? I love the purple color of this brush set, that is something that really caught my eye. It came with this cute pouch. It is actually made of cloth, so it is washable.

When you open the pouch, you will find a flap that cover the top part of the brushes.

There are 7 brushes in this set. The handle is quite sturdy, it is made of wood and has this pearly white color. Mine is a bit old so please excuse the chipped and dirty handles. The ferrule on the other hand is made of stainless steel with a lilac color.

Now let's take a look at each brush on this set.

Powder/ Blush Brush

This brush is actually my favorite brush out of all the brushes on this set. The purple bristles are made of horse hair, and they are great for applying blush as well as for contouring. Natural hairs are great in picking up powders, and this brush is just perfect. It is so soft, not scratchy at all, and I have been using this constantly and washing it for a year now and this didn't shed nor bleed ever.

Big and Small Eyeshadow Brush

These brushes are made of goat hair, they are soft but they shed. These are so-so eyeshadow brushes, they actually does the job but they are quite scratchy. I love the small eyeshadow brush and I use it to add some shadow on my lower lashline. The big eyeshadow brush is actually the fluffiest eyeshadow brush I have, so I use this to blend my crease eyeshadow. It takes a lot of work but these 2 are very useful indeed. Please do know that you cannot use this for cream shadows, just powder eyeshadows.

Angled Eyeliner/ Brow Brush

This brush used to be my favorite from this set, but as time goes by it became quite scratchy on the eyes. I mainly use this for applying my cream eyeliner, but now I think this is more useful for applying brow powder. This is made with synthetic bristles.

Smudger and Flat Liner Brush

These 2 are my less used brush on this set. The smudger brush is made of rubber (I think) and I don't use this because it tugs my eyes and it actually hurts. Some may tolerate this but it just doesn't work for me.

Next is the flat liner brush. I actually use this in applying inner corner highlight but since I don't want to use my angled eyeliner brush for applying my cream liner anymore, I think I'll start using this one. This is very thin and I like that it is kinda pointed, this can be good for creating that thin, crisp line on the eyes.

Lip Brush

Last but not the least, is the lip brush. This, I use a lot since this is my only lip brush. It does a really great job when I wanted a precise line and also in reaching the inner corners of my lips, I just hope that it came with a decent cover or it is retractable. It just comes with this thick plastic cover that is hard to clean and also makes capping of the brush a bit hard.

What I like about this product:

• I think this is cheap for 7 brushes
• The brushes are easy to wash
• It does not bleed
• Very lightweight and compact, perfect for travelling
• Comes with a pouch

What I didn't like about this product:

• Not easily available
• The eyeshadow brushes sheds
• The lip brush does not have a good cap/cover

This brush set is available at Eazy Fashion for ₱390. I believe you can also find a pink version of this brush set that comes with a leather pouch in Multiply, but Eazy Fashion also sells a set with black leather pouch for ₱499 and it comes with a brow spoolie instead of the lip brush.

So if you are looking for a cheap yet effective starter makeup brush set, I think this set is a good deal since this covers the basic makeup brushes that you need.
