This or That? Makeup Tag + Day 21 Update of my ACNEdote Skincare Routine

Hello lovely readers! It's currently 11:11 PM, and I am wishing for a cold night, since summer is here and days are really really humid.

Anyhow, I read this tag from Yette Cruz of Yettezkie's Doodle and I am so excited to do one as well. It is the This or That? Makeup Tag!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But first, I also wanted to give you an update on my Alba Botanica ACNEdote Skincare Regimen.

Here are some photos of my skin as of today:

Below: Day 21

Observations:
  • Some of the scars have lightened a bit now. I have quite a few new pimples due to lack of sleep and stress, but I am so thankful to my Mint Julep Masque and the Treatment Gel, they help to dry it a bit faster.
  • I am now experiencing stinging and burning sensation on both the Deep Clean Astringent and the Invisible Treatment Gel.
  • I have fewer bumps on my skin, it feels so smooth now and I love it. I will still continue to use this and will give you an update again next week.

Now let's move onto the tag. I added a few questions that I found while I was researching for this tag on Youtube.

BLUSH OR BRONZER

Blush. I just recently learned on benefits of putting bronzer on the face, on how it warms up your complexion as well as helping contour and slim down the face, but I would pick having a rosy flushed glow any other day.

My favorite blush as of the moment is Benefit's Coralista. I just love the peachy color with slight gold shimmer of this blush. Makes my face look so bright and healthy.

POWDER, CREAM OR LIQUID HIGHLIGHTER

Powder. I personally prefer powdered products because they are much easier to apply and easier to blend. I currently do not own a powder highlighter, but let me know if you guys have any suggestions for this. I currently have Benefit's High Beam, but I think it breaks me out so I seldom use it.

LIP GLOSS OR LIPSTICK

Lipstick. I know, it is so obvious as I am obsessed with lipsticks! I think I only have 2 lip gloss, as opposed to 12 lipsticks.

Currently, I can't get enough of my Covergirl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Divine and my NYX Matte Lipstick in Perfect Red. I just love these bold colors!

EYELINER OR MASCARA

Both. Seriously, this is hard for me because this is the top 2 makeup products that I cannot live without. I always love the accentuate my eyes, and I spend a lot of time in making them standout.

The mascara I am currently using is Maybelline's Magnum Volum' Express Mascara, and I love using it. It gives the volume and length that I need, so I am happy with that.

GEL, LIQUID OR PENCIL EYELINER

Pencil. Its is such a versatile product and you can never go wrong with a basic eyeliner pencil. May it be black or brown, there are a lot of things that you can do with it.

My favorite pencil eyeliner is the Nichido Mineral Kohl Pencil in Onyx. It is affordable, it hardly smudge, and the color payoff is amazing.

FOUNDATION OR CONCEALER

Foundation. Even though I do not have perfect skin, I would still prefer foundation over concealer. I actually  prefer putting foundation without using concealer, as opposed to using concealer to cover up the entire face. Concealers are usually thick, so it may clog the pores.

My current favorite is the Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup because of its amazing coverage and superb staying power. You can also double it up as a concealer, and it doesn't feel heavy or cakey.

PRESSED OR LOOSE POWDER

Pressed. Pressed powders are very compact and easy to use. They are not as messy as loose powders, and I personally feel that pressed powders gives me more coverage.

I am currently using the IN2IT Oil Control and Oil Free 2-Way Foundation. Although it gives me amazing coverage, it breaks me out when I use it alone so I just use this as a setting/finishing powder.

NEUTRAL OR COLOR EYESHADOW

Neutral. Yes, I love neutral eyeshadows, and if you have read my previous post, it is my dream to own the Naked Palette. But I think I am going to purchase a neutral palette from 4U2, BYS or Wet N Wild, I am not sure which one though. Let me know if you have any suggestions for these as well.

MATTE OR SHIMMER EYESHADOW

Matte. I am really not into frost/sparkle/shimmer eyeshadows, and since I do not use a lot of eyeshadow, I prefer matte ones.

My current favorite is the Ever Bilena Matte Eyeshadow Duos in London. They are matte, neutral colors, perfect for everyday use.

BRUSHES, SPONGES OR FINGERS

Fingers. I believe that the hands are the best makeup tool there is. Just make sure that they are always clean before you put it on your face to avoid bacteria from spreading, since the hands carries the most bacteria in our body.

WATERPROOF OR NON-WATERPROOF

Waterproof. I like products that stay for hours on my face without smudging or retouching. Being that I sweat a lot and I have super oily skin, I always look for products that are waterproof.

And that is my take on this makeup tag. I tag everyone of you to do this and please post your links below so that I can read them as well. You may also share your links via my Facebook page.

I will see you on my next post. Stay pretty, keep on smiling and goodluck!

Aw! I'm so happy to hear that I inspired you to write about it. Just followed your blog and I'm looking forward for your post.

I stopped using these products last week and I have been testing out a new skincare product line. I have been using it for 4 days now and I think I will be posting about it by Wednesday so watch out for that. :)
