Tutorial: Simple One Color Smokey Eye

Hello lovely ladies! I have been always fascinated with sexy, smoldering, smokey eyes ever since I started to explore with makeup. Because of my imperfect skin, chubby cheeks, etc. I always wanted my eyes to be the focal point of my face, thus I came up with a way on how to do a simple smokey eye look that can be worn everyday (in my case, everytime I go out as I do not wear makeup everyday).
If you wanted to learn how to create this simple look, here are the steps:

1. It is important to prep your eyes. Make sure it is clean. I put my Etude House Surprise Me concealer to create a clean canvass and to hide ruptured veins, etc.
2. Apply a brown cream shadow or a creamy brown eye pencil on the lid. You should stop at the fold of the eyes. Here I am using the Fashion 21 Twist Eyeshadow Pencil in Brown (I am not sure if this was discontinued already).
You may use black, gray or any other color that you prefer.

3. Smudge the outer edges of the cream eyeshadow and blend it upward. You may use a smudger brush, your finger or in my case I used a cotton tip applicator.
4. Using the other end of the cotton tip applicator, apply brown powder eyeshadow on the fold of the lids, just on top of the eyeshadow and blend well to erase any harsh edges. Apply any leftover shadow on the lower lids. This will create dimension for your eyes.
5. Apply black eyeliner as close to the upper lashline as possible. You may use a liquid eyeliner, pencil eyeliner or a gel liner, whichever you are comfortable with.
I prefer using liquid eyeliner.
Notice that white part below the liner? You need to tightline your eyes with a black liner. This will also make the illusion of fuller lashes. I used the Ever Bilena Color Eye Pencil in Black.
See the difference? You may or may not line your waterline.

6. Curl your lashes and apply tons of mascara. I used my ELF Eyelash Curler and Maybelline The Magnum Volume Express.
This is optional, but you may or may not use false eyelashes. Since my lashes are so stubborn and even though I curled them they are still straight, I use demi lashes. Basically, they are just lashes that I cut in half. Just make sure to reapply your eyeliner and curl your lashes together with the demi lashes so they will bond together.
And here is the finished look:
Sorry for the eyebrows. :) Haven't groomed them for quite sometime now. Please let me know your thoughts regarding this tutorial. Did I do good? Should I make more? Please leave a comment below. If you decided to recreate this look, you may post a picture on my Facebook page.

Thank you so much reading and for supporting me! See you in my next post.
