My First and Last SaladBox Unboxing

Hello everyone! I am back with a new post, or a rant? Anyhow, I would like to share with you my first, and my last SaladBox.

SaladBox is one of the three beauty subscriptions here in the Philippines, and they are actually the first one. When I researched for beauty subscription boxes, I was weighing between SaladBox and GlamourBox, and because of a Youtube guru who is all praises with this box, I immediately subscribed. But once I subscribed, I read lots and lots of bad reviews and rants about this box, so I emailed them to cancel my subscription (which is stated on their website). I received no reply so I decided to cancel it directly thru Paypal. I then subscribed to BDJ Box (read my first unboxing post of the March BDJ Box here).

I subscribed last February and once you register they will collect your payment for the first box, which entitles me for a March box. Last March 26, I noticed that I haven't received my March box yet so I decided to send a private message through Facebook, which they told that I will receive it within the last week of March. March ended, and no SaladBox. I got this box last April 5, which I did not appreciate as the box is intended for March, not April.

Anyways, let me share you what I got from this box.

Initial impression? This is smaller than BDJ Box, and lighter as well.

Upon opening the box, you will see a letter from the SaladBox team as well as the samples included inside the box.

Here are the items that I got:

1. Musk by Alyssa Ashley

A perfume sample which I appreciate. It smells nice actually, it has this powdery and musky scent to it.

2. Mir and Ryvi Tomato Soap Acne Cleansing Bar

I haven't heard of tomato soap before, and although this got me really curious, I would not be using it because I am currently using a skincare set from Absynthe Bath and Beauty (watch out for my review).

3. Sophia Eyelash Enhancer by Virginia Olsen

Out of all the items in this box, this is something that made me really smile and made me super excited to use it at once. I will be also doing a review about this, so let's see if it will really make my eyelashes linger and fuller.

4. Carmex Mositurising Lip Balm

This, I think, is a staple in all SaladBoxes. I don't know why but they always include a Carmex lipbalm which if you are a recurring subscriber might be slightly annoying. I used Carmex before and it didn't work for me so I might give this to someone.

5. Avon Skin So Soft Glutathione Hand and Body Lotion

I don't why they gave out 2 of these, I was hoping that they'll just give out 1 then include another product, like a lipstick or an eyeshadow for example. I am not fond of lotions, so I will not be using this as well.

So in comparison with the BDJ Box, this March SaladBox is a let down. The samples are not worth the ₱500 subscription fee a month. I am not really happy with the samples, and the service. I am super glad that I unsubscribed and switched to BDJ.

I hope SaladBox will listen to bloggers posting and ranting about their boxes each and every month, and up their ante when it comes to their boxes and samples. I know that they are the first beauty subscription  box here in the country, but they have been exceeded by Glamourbox and BDJ Box, especially BDJ Box. If I see lots of changes and cool products, I might subscribe again, who knows. But as of the moment, I do not recommend Saladbox, it is a waste of money.

I will be posting a review tomorrow about a local powder foundation. And also, I am on Twitter so please follow me: @pinaybeautyblog. Should I make an Instagram account? Yes? No? Let me know by posting a comment below.

Thank you so much for your support! And I am so excited because I have collaborated with a fellow beauty blogger, Rattus of Beauty On A Shoestring Budget, and we will be having our first ever giveaway! Details and instructions soon.

hayy..disappointing :( saw another blog post on march saladbox sis - http://www.beautybytellie.com/2013/04/my-march-saladbox-unboxing.html bakit iba-iba yung items ng box? baka iba din yung sakin but for sure, ang avon lotion present!urggh!i already got a pair from glamourbox and i think the lotion is not suitable naman for summer, they should have added a sunblock. I'm not really impressed with the march box :( (actually, mine didnot arrive yet.I pm'ed them but they're not answering back and I'm not excited anymore).I subscribed to the 3 subscription boxes (glamourbox, bdj & saladbox) all at one time for the month of march so I could do a comparison and so far, I'm happy with BDJ. I think I wouldn't subscribe again to Saladbox anytime soon.I will observe nlang muna..hayy..

Actually, the letter included in my box states I should have received the sheet, BB Cream, etc. and I just received an email from them that they made a typo and attached a letter. I don't know! Beauty boxes are supposed to be tailored for the subscriber, so sometimes there will be different items but not that different! I am not impressed with SaladBox at all! Even if you email, call or private message them on Facebook they will not answer you. I just hope you will be able to receive your box because you paid for it.

hmmm I can sense that they're having problem with their customer service.. 'going out of business' soon Saladbox? :D and why giving away "excess" samples?LOL

Excited on your giveaway sis..will watch out for it.hehe..take care! :)

Nevermind the content. The delayed shipping alone is unacceptable. If a lot of people already got theirs, you'll already get wind of what the contents will be, which will ruin the surprise which is the whole point of this thing.

True that! But the point is, the box alone is not surprising anymore. expect the sample to be crappy, more sachets, more Carmex, less new things to try out. It's as if SaladBox doesn't have partner brands anymore, the brands all went for Glamourbox and BDJBox.
