Review: Wet N' Wild Megalast Lip Colors

Hello lovely readers! I am back with another review. The super kind Raissa of Amictus sent me these lippies for review and they are the ever famous Wet N' Wild Megalast Lip Colors.

"Lips take center stage! This 4-hour, longwearing lip color leaves a semi-matte, crème finish in one stroke. Glides on easily with rich, velvety color that doesn't cake, feather, or bleed. Made with hydrating skin-care ingredients: Hyaluronic Microspheres provide extraordinary adhesion to lips, an exclusive polymer complex offers cushion-like feel and texture, and natural marine plant extracts Coenzyme Q10 and Vitamins A & E help smooth lips."

I got two shades from Raissa: Dollhouse Pink and Wine Room. She sells them for ₱250, compared to SM Department Store where they sell these for ₱300 a pop. That is still a ₱50 difference, you could have bought a new makeup product with that.

And I also got 3 more shades of this lipstick that I wanted to share with you. These are gifts that I received from my friends.

Let's talk about the packaging first. I actually like how these lipsticks look like. They are just housed in this compact black tube with a clear cap so you can easily see the colors inside. Downside is, since the lipstick doesn't go down completely on the tube, taking the cap off and putting it back in is a bit tricky, especially if the cap fits tightly on the tube, which is actually a great thing but its hard to take the cap off without touching the lipstick. You can also feel how cheap the packaging is when you twist the bullet up and down the tube: it is not smooth and there is this certain feeling that the tube may got stuck.

What I like about this lipstick is that the bullet is true to color when you swatch it, and it is very pigmented. What they lack in packaging, they made up in the formulation of the lipstick. I love the semi-matte creamy texture of these lip colors, and the shade selection as well (there are currently 26 shades in this line). It also glides on smoothly on the lips.

Based on my observation, these lip colors are quite drying and also emphasizes the dry areas in the lips, which can be easily solved by exfoliation and lip balm before lipstick application. They are also long lasting, although they transfer a lot, the color stays for more than 4 hours, even after eating, drinking and smoking. It is true that this doesn't cake or gather up in certain areas of the lips, but I have experienced very minimal bleeding which can be solved by lining the lips prior.

What I like about this product:
  • Amazing shades (I want to collect them all!)
  • Very good formula
  • Affordable for ₱250/each (The quality of the lipstick is super worth the price tag)
  • Semi-matte finish
  • Long lasting (lasted on my lips for more than 4 hours)
  • Very pigmented
  • Glides on smoothly

What I didn't like about this product:
  • Availability (Although some SM Department Stores carry Wet N Wild Products, the shade selection is very minimal. Other shades can only be purchased online.)
  • Packaging
  • Dries the lips
  • Very minimal bleeding
  • Transfers a lot

And that is my quick review and thoughts about these products. They deserve to be raved as the formulation of these lipsticks are very very good and the shades are just amazing! I love this line of lipstick from Wet N' Wild and I hope that I can get more shades in the future.

If you wanted to get yours as well, go ahead and check out Amictus on Instagram, or feel free to contact Raissa Tiongson via 09178305924 or [email protected] She also sells clothes, shoes, bags and accessories so go check her out.

Note: Please know that Amictus sent these products for review, but everything posted here is of my own and honest opinion.

That's cheaper, but I think that's for pre-order, you would have to wait a couple of weeks to get your product. Thanks for sharing though! I appreciate it. :)
