My Monthly Favorites: April 2013

Hello Pinay Beauties and happy Sunday! Today I wanted to share with you my April favorites, products that I used and abused for the past month. Let's start shall we?

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation

Oh this! This is love at first swatch! The consistency is not as thick, but once applied and blended really well into the skin it dries out into this super smooth and powder like texture. The shade that I got is 820 Creamy Natural. It is a bit dark for me but it's okay since my face is so much lighter than my body now (thanks to the next item in this list). Here is a swatch:

Left: Slightly Blended
Right: Well Blended

As per the coverage of this foundation, it is medium to full coverage. I will not say that it has the power of a concealer, but it does cover some of my acne spots as seen below. What I like about it the most is that it feels so light in the skin, and the staying power is amaze-balls!

This foundation is available at Bon Marche for ₱500.00. Currently, they only have the shade 805 Ivory, but make sure to follow Bon Marche on Facebook for updates on when new stocks/shades will arrive.

A Bonne' Miracle Spa Milk Facial Foam

This is a new product from A Bonne'. A Bonne' is actually a known brand from their whitening products. I love their salt scrub and lotion. So when CJ of Pinay On The Loose had a giveaway and I joined and I won! I was supposed to enter the A Bonne' 7 Day Challenge but I received the products late and I wasn't able to do it. But, I have been using this product ever since and I love it! It smells really really nice and lathers really well. My face is so much lighter now, and some of the dark acne marks have lighten as well. Although it does not clear my skin and it does not remove makeup, I still love this facial foam and will continue to use it.

NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray

Another newly launched product from NYX. On my last monthly favorites, I told you guys that I am looking for a replacement to my Krave's Mist Spritz. I already used up my last bottle and got myself this setting spray from Digital Traincase. This actually works the same as the Mist Spritz, it makes my makeup last longer and keeps oil at bay. What I didn't like about this is the strong chemical smell, but it works well regardless. Right now I am not sure if I will repurchase should I ran out or try a new one, but we'll see.

NYX Powder Blush in Taupe

Another NYX Product from Digital Traincase. Nikkie of NikkieTutorials (check her out!) considers this product as her HG contour powder and I know that I have to get my hands on this. It's always sold out on different online shops that sells NYX products but last month I saw it on hand that I immediately hit the "Puchase" button and I am super glad I did because boy, this stuff is amazing!

This is basically a matte blush with super duper little shimmer in it. This works really really well for me, and I know it will suit all skintones. You can get yours as well for ₱280 (Digital Traincase currently have this on hand and on sale!)

Artist Studio/Landmark Brushes

I have heard a lot about these brushes from different bloggers and Youtubers. Not just because of the quality of these brushes, but because of the super affordable price tag. Let's start with the angled face brush.

Look how dense this brush is! This brush is super soft and works great for contouring. I use this together with my NYX Blush in Taupe and the result is amazing. No shedding or bleeding at all. Best part is, it is only for ₱150.

Then we have the eyebrushes. I got the flat shader/concealer brush, the pencil crease brush and the angled fluffy eyeshadow brush.

Oh I love these brushes! The long handles make them look like professional brushes, and the matte black handles look super cool. I love the flat eyeshader brush, it packs the eyeshadow really well. The angled fluffy brush works great for blending, it can also be used the contour the nose. My favorite will be the pencil crease brush.

This is my first crease brush ever, and when makeup artists say that a crease brush is a must have, they are not lying. I love how dense this brush is, and it has been a wonderful experience playing around with makeup because of this brush, The brushes are made of synthetic bristles by the way, and they are available for ₱50 each.

Fashion 21 Pink Obsession Lipstick in Dream Girl

And of course, my monthly favorites will not be completed without the favorite lipstick of the month, and that would be the Fashion 21 Pink Obsession Lipstick in Dream Girl. This is a gorgeous pinkish brown color that is perfect for everyday. The finish is semi-matte, and staying power is decent. It is also moisturizing but still needs lipbalm under it. Here is a swatch:

I think this swatch is very true to color. I love how it looks like my real lips, but slightly pinker. This lipstick is for ₱155, and I already purchase another shade Hot Diva which I'm loving so far.

And that is it for my April Favorites. Let me know if you wanted to see a full review of any of the products mentioned. Thank you so much for reading and see you in my next post. Goodluck!

Wanted to try that Taupe blush but can't find it anywhere. Thanks for the heads up. Oh and I also wanted to try that fondie but they said that if you have dry skin then it's not advisable since they tend cling/highlight those areas of your skin. :/

Aw that's sad to hear. I love the foundation because it suits my oily skin, but I never saw it emphasize my dry patches naman. :)

You should, they are really good! I'll be getting more eye brushes at Landmark Makati, for some reason it's way cheaper there and they carry lots of variants, unlike in Trinoma it seems they don't have the other brushes. :(
