Review and Swatches: Sophie Paris Lipsticks

Hello Pinay Beauties! As promised, here is my second post for today. I wanted to share with you my thoughts about the Sophie Paris Lipsticks.

I went to SM Mall Of Asia for the BDJ Box event and decided to stop by their department store where I picked up a couple of products. When I was at the cashier, I noticed the bright pink lipstick the cashier was wearing that I had this urge to ask her what brand it is. She told me "Sophie" so when I went home I researched about it. Apparently, these lipsticks are dirt cheap for ₱79 each. I didn't know any dealers of Sophie until I found an online seller who sells Sophie makeup products.

There are 10 shades available for this line of lipstick. I would like to show you the colors as well swatches on my lips so be prepared, this will be a picture heavy post.

I would like to divide these lipsticks in 3 categories: the peach and naturals, the pinks and lastly the reds. Ready?

L-R: Mango Peach, Caramel Sugar and Velvet Nude

Mango Peach - I think this is aptly named, beside the mango part. It is a very natural peachy color.

Caramel Sugar - This is a pinkish nude lipstick. Looks very natural on the lips and reminds me of Fashion 21's Pink Obsession Lipstick in Dream Girl.

Velvet Nude - I think I just found the perfect nude for my lips. As the name says, this is a nude color that I think will suit all skintones.

L-R: V.I.Pink, Ice Pink and Summer Pink

V.I.Pink - This is by far my favorite shade. It is the perfect hot pink shade, and I believe this is the shade that the cashier is wearing.

Ice Pink - My second favorite color. This reminds me of Wet N' Wild's Dollhouse Pink, but I think this is slightly deeper.

Summer Pink - I don't like this shade because it makes my lips look washed out, but I think this will look good when combined with a darker shade of pink or red.

L-R: Russian Red, Red Pepper, Fantastic Red and Red Wine

Russian Red - This lipstick has a blue undertone, and I have been searching for blue undertone lipsticks because they make your teeth look whiter but this shade is not for me.

Red Pepper - I love this color. It is your basic red but with a hint, making it super wearable. If you wanted to rock the red lips but is afraid that it will look "too red", this shade is a must try.

Fantastic Red - This is a deep red, almost a berry color. I like this a lot because I have never tried a berry colored lipstick and this was love at first swatch.

Red Wine - This one, I thought would like like a purplish red but I was surprised that it looks more on the side of plum with a very very slight hint of red.

What I like about this product:
  • Super affordable at ₱79 each.
  • Finish is creamy matte.
  • Glides easily on the lips, no tugging issues at all.
  • Moisturizing, but still needs lipbalm under it.
  • Pigmented, but might need a couple of swipes to achieve full color.
  • Long lasting, lasted 5 1/2 hours of drinking, eating and smoking.
  • Sweet scent, not overpowering at all.

What I didn't like about this product:
  • Transfers.
  • May be hard to find if you do not know a Sophie dealer/branch.
  • Some of the shades are always out of stock.

UPDATE: I recently found out that the Sophie Lipsticks went from ₱79 to ₱85. These lipsticks are really the bomb and I think the ₱6 pesos price increase is justifiable.

If you wanted to get a hold of these lipsticks, please visit Sophie Paris Lipsticks' Facebook page or Ali's Plush Collection to place an order. They currently have all the shades in stock so grab yours now while you can.

Thank you so much for reading guys. I will be gone for 3 days for a company outing but don't fret because I will have a guest post coming up as well as more reviews and tutorials. Please do not forget to follow this blog and my Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for more updates. I will see you in my next post. Goodluck!

I also have the Summer Pink and your true, they tend to look washed out. I made it work for me though by applying a pink gloss over it. I also love the Caramel Sugar. It is my everyday lip shade. I love how it is nude with a hint of pink on it.

Yes I love Caramel Sugar more than Velvet Nude! And for Summer Pink, you really need to mix it with another shade so it will work. It just looks so washed out for me and I'm fair na, how about those who has darker skintone than me pa. :(

Omg! We have almost the same story. I asked the cashier lady from SM Hypermart what lipstick she was wearing. It was a hot pink shade but looks flattering on her. So I googled Sophie lipstick and it lead me to your blog. :)
