The BB Cream Review Series "Crazy Over BB Creams"

Hello Pinay Beauties! I have been working hard this past few weeks to give you this series. I asked you guys if you wanted me to review BB Creams and a lot of people have been asking me to do so, so I figured why not right? I wanted to give you a quick overview of what to expect on this new series called "Crazy Over BB Creams."

You may be wondering why I chose to do this series when there are now CC and DD Creams. Let me give you a little bit information about BB Cream first before I explain why.

What is BB Cream?

BB Cream stands for Blemish Balm or Beauty Balm, and was actually invented to soothe and help repair the skin after surgery but became extremely popular for the past few years when Korean celebrities revealed that this is their secret for flawless and fresh look. Basically, BB Cream is an all-in-one cosmetic beauty and skincare product. Depending on the brand, this cream can act as foundation, concealer, sunblock, and moisturizer all in one go.

General Benefits of BB Cream

  • Produces a very natural, "no makeup look"
  • Provides perfect coverage like a foundation would but since it's not as thick, it doesn't clog the pores
  • Works pretty much like a tinted moisturizer
  • Conceals all types of pigmentation, discoloration, acne and other blemishes
  • Has healing properties that soften, smoothen and refine skin
  • Encourages skin regeneration to create and maintain youthful skin
  • Contains UV Protection for healthy skin (SPF levels differ for each product)
  • Anti-wrinkle and skin-lightening benefits

Now, why BB Cream?

I did some research and also tried a CC Cream from Etude House. CC cream stands for Color Corrector, and it mostly acts as a foundation base, not a stand alone product. Unlike the BB Cream, it can be a makeup base but most of the BB Creams now have good coverage and is a good alternative for using foundation. It provides a very natural and lightweight feel, plus it is a lot forgiving when it comes to blending than a foundation. Another reason is because there are a lot of BB Cream options to choose from, and it's been around along time, since the 1960s, so there must be a good reason why it is worth the hype.

What to expect on this review series?

First off, I will scoring each BB Cream based on the following categories:

Packaging. Packaging is really important when it comes to BB Cream. Is it hygienic? Messy? is it travel friendly?
Coverage. Of course, since BB Creams can be used in lieue of your foundation, so we should really consider how good the coverage of the BB Cream is.
Staying Power. This is something that we all consider when purchasing a product. Does it stay all day? Does it fade/slide in the middle of the day?
Oil Control. I have oily skin and BB Creams are known to have good moisturizing properties. So we would also like to look at how good the BB Cream is in controlling oil.
Availability. Is it readli available? Can we find it in department stores? Online sellers?
Price. My blog is all about finding budget friendly product, so I would also like to rate the price of the product. Is the price worth the performance?

When the series is done, I will be doing a final blog post with a comparison table for all BB Creams as well as overall recommendations.

Also, another thing expect from this series the Paper Blot Test. Yup, you read it right. To check how good is the product when it comes to oil control, I will be doing a paper blot test after 2 hours of wearing it. The blotting paper I will use is the Gatsby Powdered Oil Clear Paper. It is powdered so it may affect the test but I will make sure to remove as much powder as I can to able to reflect true results.

Currently, here are the list of the products for review (in no particular order):

Perfect review for BBcreams. Thanks to you. I would like to recommend these Beauty products from Royale. Their L'Opulent products is great but its a bit expensive like foreign brands.

Please share your review for those who tried Royale products already. Best
