Review and Swatches: Excel Paris Long Lasting 24 Hours Matte Lip Cream

Hello Pinay Beauties! I hope everyone is safe especially during this stormy weather. I sincerely apologize for not updating my blog, but I am back with another review and I hope this is something interesting for you guys because I am going to review a cheap matte lip color that can be used everyday. These are the Excel Paris Long Lasting 24 Hours Matte Lip Cream.

I have been hearing about this matte lip cream but I am quite adamant to try it because the price was really cheap, but when Jackie of Fab Beau Lusst gave me samples, I cannot help but try it. She also raves that this gives the "true matte" finish and lasts all day.

Excel Paris Matte Lip Cream claims to give a silky-matte finish that lasts up to 24-hours. It also claims to contain Vitamins E & A, and it prides itself to be made in Germany. These lip creams ranges from ₱45 to ₱120.

Packaging-wise, I think the shape of the container is really unique. It is small and very handy. It also comes with a doe foot applicator.

I got 2 shades: 505 which is a nude color and 512 which is a bright red color. Here are the swatches:

Shade 505

At the packaging, it looks like a nude with an orange hint to it, but once applied on the lips it looks more pinker, at least on my lips. It is a great nude color, doesn't make me look washed out.

Shade 512

This is a very bright red with an orange undertone. It is a bit difficult to apply with the doe foot applicator, so sorry for the messy application above.

What I like about this product:
  • Cheap, Fab Beau Lusst sells them for ₱80 each.
  • Super pigmented. Only need one swipe to achieve full color.
  • Packaging is small and very handy.
  • True matte finish.
  • Photographs really well.
  • Very long lasting. Lasts all day even when you eat, drink or smoke.

What I didn't like about this product:
  • Very drying. Needs lip balm under it before application.
  • Sits on the lines of the lips.
  • Dries very fast, no time to blend it really well on the lips.
  • Smells like paint.
  • Stubborn to remove.

Overall, I think these lip creams are crazy matte and cheap. The quality is so-so, and some may be a bit skeptical to try it out because even if they claim to be made in Germany, they look like they are made in China. It is extremely drying to the lips, but the color stays all day. I also haven't heard of any complaints that this is harmful to the lips, just use it with caution and give your lips a rest. Even though they claim to last 24 hours, make sure to wear it in shorter duration.

Have you tried these lip creams? What are your thoughts about it? Let me know by posting a comment below.

Got any suggestions, requests, etc? Please do not hesitate to leave a comment. I love reading and replying to your comments guys. Thank you so much for reading and watch out for my next post! Keep smiling, and remember that you are stronger than what you think. Goodluck!

These are really inexpensive, Maica! Have you tried layering a colored or clear lip gloss on top? That might help. :-)

By the way, I've 'resuscitated' may blog. It would be wonderful if you could check it out. I'd love to hear your thoughts, too. :) (lavita-est-bella.blogspot.com)

I tried before, but it defeated my purpose of a true matte lippie. :)

Saw your blog, congratulations and welcome back to the blogging world! Will watch out for your posts..

Heard that this has high lead content. Can't remember where exactly, though.

I was actually surprised when I first try them. It's really long lasting but I don't like the result because it's too dry for my lips. Until now I have it on my purse but doesn't use it at all.

I have this and yes I can't wear it longer than 2 hours despite it probably lasting way longer. It's just tooooo dry!
