Review and FOTD: Bobbie Cosmetics

Hello everyone! I know I just posted a review yesterday, but I just can't wait to share my thoughts on these new cosmetic line and be the first one to really do a review about them. Have you heard of Bobbie Cosmetics?

Bobbie Cosmetics are from the makers of Bobbie and Chic Nail Polishes, if you know those brands. These are new in the market, I think they were released last February, and they can only be found in selected Mini Stop branches. Luckily, Mini Stop Technohub branch carries their products, although they get easily sold out.

For your reference, here's the price list:

Dual Powder (3 shades available) - ₱199.00
Pressed Powder (3 shades) - ₱115.00
Pressed Powder Refill - ₱55.00
Blush (3 shades) - ₱90.00
Eyeshadow Palette - ₱150.00
Lipstick (5 Shades) - ₱85.00

Also for every purchase, you can choose between a free nail polish or nail sticker. The items above were 2 purchases, but I only got 1 freebie which, I really don't mind.

I will review each product then at the end of this post I will show you a makeup look I created with them. Since this is new, I would like to make a detailed post about them so I will list the ingredients too (I know some of you are very particular with the ingredients)! Are you ready?

DARE TO BARE DUO POWDER
9 g, ₱199.00
Ingredients: Talc, Mica, Talc (and) Dimethicone/ Methicone Copolymer, Micronized Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Stearate, Polymethylmethacrylate, Polydecene, Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane (and) Dimethicone, Acetylated Lanolin Alcohol, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, Tocopheryl Acetate. May contain (+/-) Cl 77891, Cl 77499, Cl 77491

This is basically a two-way cake which means you can use it wet or dry. I really like the packaging because its light, it has a decent size mirror and there is a separate compartment for the sponge.

There are 3 shades available which are FN-01, FN-02 and FN-03. When I was looking at the testers, I noticed that FN-01 is darker than FN-02, then I figured out that FN-01 has a pink undertone so it looked darker. I really wanted to get FN-02 but its sold out, so I picked up FN-03 instead which is darker than my skintone.
It was quite scary on the pan, at least for me, because I thought it will make me look orange, but it didn't. I used it with a wet sponge, and I noticed that it is so darn hard to blend! Since it is darker than my skintone, it looks like I had patches all over my face. I decided to use a dry brush to blend the color, which worked. I believe this is better to be used dry instead of wet. You can use the sponge included or a brush to buff it in, but be careful if you are using a brush because it is so powdery you will have tons of fallouts.

I noticed that it was able to blur out my pores and my face feels so smooth, like it was my own skin, which is probably because of the silicone ingredients. Coverage wise though, I'll say its just light to medium coverage, even if I build it up or used a wet sponge. I tested this on my skin for 4 hours, and I was surprised it didn't cake knowing that I put a lot on and I was sweating so much, and that I wasn't shiny. Usually, when I use 2 way cakes, I get cakey when I start to sweat, so that was really impressing.

I would probably use this as a setting powder for my light foundation, since it feels lightweight and it does not cake on me. As I was typing the ingredients, I noticed there was Titanium Dioxide, which means it has SPF and might cause white cast on flash photography. I wasn't able to test that out though, I might do that next time and update this post.

CHEEKY BLUSH CRUSH
4 g, ₱90.00
Ingreditents: Talc, Zinc Stearate, Titanium Dioxide, Mica, Talc (and) Dimethicone/ Methicone Copolymer, Kaolin, Octyl Methoxycinnamate, Paraffinum Liquidium, Glycerin, Methyl Paraben, Proply Paraben, Tocopheryl Acetate. May contain (+/-) Cl 15850, Cl 15850:1, Cl 19140:1 Cl 77492, Mica and Titanium Dioxide (Cl 77891)

There are 3 shades available for the blushes too, from BO-01 to BO-03. I can't remember what the other shades look like, but I know one of them is a hot pink blush. I got BO-01 instead because the color looks really natural and I am really into peach-corally blushes.

The packaging is so unique because it has a small window where you can see the color, what I wasn't expecting is that there is a small mirror inside.
It does not have an applicator, which is okay because you can use this with a sponge, a brush or even with your fingers! I can see that it has super super micro glitter flecks on the packaging, but when I swatched and applied it, it looks completely matte.
It is super soft and smooth and it is a bit powdery but I was shocked that there are no fallouts. I was expecting a huge mess when I swirled my brush in the pan but it didn't happen. It really reminds me of my fave Maybelline Cheeky Glow, but for the fraction of the price.

Now when swatched, it gives decent color payoff but I had a hard time making it show on my cheeks. After a few minutes though, you'll notice a very natural flush on the cheeks. Just like the Cheeky Glow, this is also a product that you can build it up and you don't need to worry if you might have over blushed. I think this is perfect for everyday use.

SPECTRACULAR LID PALETTE
4 g, ₱150.00
Ingredients: See photo below.

The word play is so cool, don't you think? Anyway, I love the packaging of this one since it is so unique. You have to push the top part of the palette to open up the flip mirror. What's more cool about it is that it has a decent size mirror inside, but at the back there is a small window for the mirror so you can use it without opening the palette.
There are also instructions included at the back of the packaging, which I think are perfect for beginners. The directions illustrated is what I followed for the look I created. Oh, and the ingredients are listed here too.
I believe there are also 3 shades for this eyeshadow quad. I got ES-03 since it is the only one available but Monika of Mom Gone Vain got ES-01 which you can check out here. I really don't have a clue what are the colors inside since there were no testers for the eyeshadow palettes, so I was really thrilled when I first opened this one:
It has a white, brown pink, gray and plum color, all are shimmers and so pretty! I noticed that the shades on the top row are a bit grainy, but the bottom two shades are smooth and all of them are pigmented. They are powdery, smooth and they are not hard to work with. When I dipped my brush into the shadows, I noticed they are powdery so make sure that you tap off the excess so you won't have any fallouts.

I didn't use the sponge applicators so I can't comment on them, but you don't need brushes to make a great eye look, I sometimes use my fingers to pat and blend eyeshadows.

LIPSTICK
4 g, ₱85.00
Ingredients: Polydecene, Euphorbia cerifera. Ethylhexyl palmitate, Ozokerite wax, Cera Alba, PVP/ Hexadecene copolymer, Copernicia cerifera (Carnauba) wax, Flavor, Butyrospermum Parkii, Propyl paraben, Butylated hydroxytoluene, Tocopherol. May contain (+/-) Cl 77891, Cl 15850:1, Cl 77491, Cl 77499, Cl 45410:2, Mica, Cl 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), Cl 75470 (Carmine)

It such a shame that they didn't think of any creative name for their lipsticks, oh well! There are 5 shades available for this one, from LS-01 to LS-05. I didn't notice that what I got are different lipsticks, since the other one has the sticker "Magic" in it, which means that it is something that changes color and stains the lips. Should I have known, I would have got LS-01 which is a brown, slightly pink nude color.

Anyway, I got LS-03 which is a straight up pink lipstick, while LS-04 looks like a red-orange shade on the tube, but it looks pink on my lips.
On the tube and on the swatch, I didn't notice that LS-03 has actually a frost finish. I hate frost lipsticks, but I think this one is still very wearable and the color just pops. Also, LS-03 can be easily removed, unlike LS-04 which stained my lips and is actually more balm-y than the other formula.

Here's the makeup look I created. I used all of the products here, except for a clear mascara just to hold the curl of my lashes and a brow powder from Ellana.
On the left I am wearing LS-03, and on the right its LS-04. You can still see my imperfections peeking through, and do you notice the areas where there are dark patches? Urggh! The blush also looks very natural, almost barely there. Anyway, here is a close up of the eyes:
I really love how the eyes turned out! You can definitely take this look into a date/clubbing makeup by adding more of the dark grey on the outer corners and more inner corner highlight.

Overall, I am quite impressed by this line of cosmetics. The eyeshadow palette, blush and the LS-04 lippie are definitely winners on my book, considering the price. I wish it will be available on department stores too, not just Mini Stop branches. I think they are just checking if the market will be good before they expand? I hope so!

I hope this review has been helpful, and please let me know if you have any questions on the comments below. Have you tried anything from this line? How did you find them? Let me know!

Thank you so much for reading guys and I will see you on my next post, still not sure what it is though. Do you want to see a mascara, brush set or BB Cream review?

Stay beautiful guys, and goodluck!
