My Journey To Acne-Free Skin: 3-Week Update

Hello Pinay Beauties! How have you been? I am really sorry for my super long hiatus, lately I have been struggling with personal issues and I have been really out of focus and losing interest on things, but I know I owe you a lot for supporting me all the time. So here I am, giving you my acne update. I posted this picture on Instagram a week ago, and it was after 2 weeks of my makeup hiatus. I am pretty pleased how it turned out as I didn't edit nor use any filter on it. It just means that my skin is improving. :)

I was supposed to provide you guys with an update after 2 weeks but I wasn't able to make it to my appointment so this is a quick 3-week update for you guys.

Last Wednesday I met up with my dermatologist for the follow up. I already finished my antibiotics so I just continued with my skincare routine. She said my acne has already improved and she advised a Glycolic treatment, but it was too expensive for me. It's ₱2500 per session and I need at least 3 sessions bi-weekly, so I declined. She just advised me to continue my regimen, and she added a toner instead.
I am not really sure what is inside this toner as the ingredients are not listed but she prescribed me to use this in the morning only. So here is my current skincare routine:

- Glycolic Acid Soap
- Skin Toner (For Oily)
- Acne Lotion

- Glycolic Acid Soap
- Acne Lotion
- Epiduo

And here's how my skin looks like now. Please note that I still have acne, but my skin's texture is not as bumpy as before, and mostly I have acne scars.
My forehead area already cleared up, but I still have a lot of acne on my cheeks and chin. My jaw also cleared up as well, so I am really happy with that. So now I will just continue to do my routine until my next follow up which is next month.

And that is it for my quick update. I will try to post a review next, I just still have a lot of things on my mind but I swear I will go back to blogging soon. Hope you like this post and I will see you next time.

Stay happy guys and goodluck!

-- Maica :)

Sorry to hear that dear! Anyway, the improvements are visible in the photos. Keep it up! =)

Welcome back! My jawline was also infested by cystic acne last month. It was awful but I was able to know the cause. It was my new synthetic brush for contouring. Apparently, my skin on my jaw is sensitive to synthetic. I also suspected dairy but turns out it wasn't the culprit.

Anyway, I am healing now but proly will visit my dermatologist, too, after my period.

There's definitely an improvement. It seems, slow and steady wins the race with acne treatment. :(

That's true dear. Before I was so frustrated kasi walang changes, so I don't stick to a routine for longer than 2 weeks. Hahaha! But now I am pretty okay, guess the antibiotic worked (kahit papaano).. :D
