Review: Ever Bilena Pro Flawless Finish Foundation

For my first review, I am going to talk about the Ever Bilena Pro Flawless Finish Foundation. I got this a year ago, and I used it for 4 months before I switched to another foundation. I was planning to throw this out but good thing I didn't! Now I get to use it again and see if my thoughts about this product changed.
This is available in all Ever Bilena counters, and it comes in 2 packaging: 1 in a bottle with a pump (which is what I have) and 1 in a tube. I asked the SA in Watsons the difference between the 2, she said that the one in the bottle has a more matte finish and is fitted for oily skin than the one that is in the tube. I bought this for 165.

Unfortunately I threw out the box, but it's just a basic black box, nothing special. The packaging is okay. It comes in a sturdy kind of frosted glass, and has 30 ml of product. The pump is okay as well, but sometimes it acts up and I tend to have more product dispensed than what I actually needed.
It comes in 4 shades (I think) and the one that I got is in the shade of Gold.
The product feels smooth, it has a scent that I cannot totally explain, and I can't say that the scent is light because it is something that threw me off the first time I used this. It feels moisturizing though, something that girls with dry to normal skin would like.
Left side is without foundation, right side is with foundation. Guess you didn't notice the difference huh? Ever Bilena claims that this provides long lasting coverage and it dries quickly as compared to other liquid foundation. I think it gives a very sheer coverage, more of light to medium coverage. This product glides on smoothly and is very easy to blend, thus it is buildable.

Now for the test! Let me show you first my skin without any makeup on:
Gross right? As you can see, my skin is oily (I have oily skin type, I tend to get oilier on my T-zone and temples) and I have large pores and acne/acne marks.

I washed my face (always apply makeup on a clean surface!) and applied the foundation using my fingers.
It did lighten my skin and my pores are not that noticeable. The redness of my acne got a little lighter as well. I decided to apply another layer of foundation, here's what it looks like:
As you can see, the redness got lighter and somehow the foundation is starting to set on my face. It does not dry up pretty quickly, giving you ample time to really blend the product into your skin. It actually does look like a second skin, and "kind of" makes you flawless.

So I decided not to use any primer, setting powder or setting spray for this test. According to my phone it is now 6:36 AM. The foundation already oxidized and set in my face. I will check back after a few hours to see how it does. (In case you are wondering why I'm up so early, I am working home-based and my shift starts pretty early.)
So it is now 9:10 AM, exactly 2 hours and 46 minutes since I applied my foundation, and here's what my face looks like (sorry for the lighting change, the sun is up now!):
I tried not to touch my face or anything, as I wanted to give you a precise result for this product. I remember now why I stopped using this product. Even with setting powder (at that time I used the Ever Bilena Two Way Cake Foundation), it makes my face so shiny and oily. Please note that today is actually not a humid day, so I didn't sweat at all. Though upon application it feels light on the face (this foundation is water-based), it tends to feel heavy after some time since I feel like it just sits on top of my skin and my oil or sweat pushes out the foundation. The photo did not clearly show my issue with the oiliness, but let me tell you I think I can fry an egg on my face right now. Also, after a few hours you can see that color of the foundation faded, the redness from my pimples peeking through and the foundation looks blotchy.

What I like about this product:
- Very affordable for 165 and is readily available.
- The shade Gold is perfect for me.
- Easy to blend and very buildable.
- Gives a flawless finish (as the label says! It fills in your pores and creates a smooth canvass. It's basically like your own skin but better)
- Did not break me out (of course you need to make sure that you properly clean your face and remove all makeup residues by end of the day. This foundation is water-based, thus it is easy to remove with soap and water.)

What I didn't like about this product:
- Makes my skin oily (this may be perfect for dry-normal skin type)
- Sheer coverage (it has light to medium coverage, something that is not applicable to me since I have acne and acne scars. If you want more coverage, you may put more layers and set it with a powder foundation.)
- Not a matte finish foundation (if you set it with a powder, maybe, but the foundation itself is not matte. Guess the SA tricked me huh?)
- Not photo friendly (it makes my face look white if I take a photo with flash)
- Scent
- Does not have UV protection (apply sunscreen first, this is very important!)
- Transfers on my phone, handkerchief, glasses, etc.
- Emphasizes dry patches/areas on face
- Staying power is 2 to 3 hours only (at least for me, because of how oily my skin is!)

I am not saying that this foundation is not good that's why I stopped using it, it's just not good for my needs. For those of you who have dry to normal skin and is looking for a foundation that will cover up your little imperfections, this may be he perfect foundation for you! It gives out a very natural, no-makeup makeup look. It is a good everyday foundation, and it is very affordable.

Longevity of the product will depend on how often you use it and how much product you use. I used this bottle for 4 months, and I still have about 1/3 left (I go out 2-3 times a week and that is the only time I wear makeup).

Please note that this is my personal opinion, and what does not work for me may work for you. If you have the same skin type as I have, I hope this post is helpful in making your decision whether to purchase it or not.

My next blog will be about a lip product. What could it be? Stay tuned and goodluck!
